At Hi-Rez Studios, we believe that diversity is the key to success and innovation. Our players are an incredibly diverse group hailing from different walks of life and we strive to reflect that diversity in our employees. We celebrate the multiple voices, perspectives and personalities of our employees who help us to raise the bar and think outside the box -- we believe that this mindset will equip us to better serve our communities.

Let’s face the facts: while the video game industry hasn’t historically been the most diverse landscape, our aim has been and always will be to continue challenging this standard. We believe that creating a diverse environment with varied insights and life experiences is essential to creating games that engage all players and allows everyone to feel seen and heard. We know that in order to make games for everyone, we must strive to include everyone.

Our Commitment

At Hi-Rez Studios we are committed to providing our employees a workplace environment that is free of harassment, bias and discrimination -- one that allows them to feel safe, valued & respected. It is our priority to create an environment that embodies the belief that everyone is deserving of a safe place to work and that our differences should not only be understood, but should also be celebrated.

What We’re Doing

As a studio, we have long been an ally in the fight to combat the norm in the video game industry by offering the following:

    1. Pride Celebrations and In-Game Representation
  • Representation is important. We regularly search for innovative ways to celebrate Pride month by incorporating in-game items and ensuring that our online community of LGBTQ+ players feel heard and celebrated.
  • 2. MLK Observation and Volunteering
  • We want to ensure we are actively giving back to our community. While we already offer all employees a volunteer day... we also observe MLK Day as an official day of volunteering in the community.
  • 3. International Women’s Day Celebrations
  • Women play a vital role in the development of our games and we are a major proponent in the ongoing journey towards equality for women in gaming. We celebrate the women of Hi-Rez annually by holding IWD celebrations in-studio that are open to all women.
  • 4. Continuously Widening our Talent Diversity
  • We attend HBCU career fairs as well as diversity & inclusion focused career fairs, partner with student organizations, and get into gaming panels with student organizations.
  • 5. Quarterly Online Training
  • We believe we must actively combat negative workplace mindsets. To this end, we offer mandatory quarterly training on topics such as “Preventing Discrimination & Harrassment”, “Diversity & Inclusion”, “Unconscious Bias”, and “Microaggressions".

While we are active players in our commitment to create a work environment that is safe and welcoming to all, we realize there is more work to be done. As part of our on-going long term commitment, we are now working on making changes within our studio to further align with our beliefs. We will update the content of this page regularly to reflect those changes.
